Grading using a Rubric

To grade a Blackboard assignment with a rubric first you will need to view the attempt of the student. Once in the attempt, there are two ways to grade. Inline with the assignment and within rubric window.

Grade with Inline Rubric

  1. In the student attempt you will see a small down arrow on the right column underneath the score. Clicking on that will give you more options in which to grade.

  • If you allow a student to see your rubric before they complete the assignment, using the options ‘Yes (with rubric scores)’ or ‘Yes (without rubric scores)’ it will appear in My Grades

  • If you have selected the option ‘Yes (with rubric scores)’ then once the rubric has been graded students will see the score as well as feedback. Do note that you cannot show rubric feedback or what learning outcome the student has achieved without show scores.
