Blackboard Assignment

A Blackboard assignment is a place where students can submit an assignment to either by uploading a file or typing a written submission. It is a digital assignment drop-box area and the first option to consider when marking online. Blackboard assignment features inline grading using Crocodoc. This allows annotations be to made on submitted documents.

Group assignments

If students are assigned into groups then group assignments can be set up. Only one student within the group will need to submit to represent the group. As the instructor (marker) you only need to grade the work for one student in the group and the system will return your feedback, grades, annotation and/or file attachments automatically to all students in the group.

Blackboard Assignment using SafeAssign

SafeAssign is Blackboard’s plagiarism checking tool similar to Turnitin. This can be enable for any Blackboard assignment. SafeAssign only supports file that can be converted to plain text. This includes the following file types: .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .odt, .txt, .rtf, .pdf, and .html file formats only.
